| September 1982 | Established Sumiya Bunjiro Brewery Co., Ltd. and applied for a license for manufacturing alcoholic beverages. |
| October 1983 | Acquired a license for manufacturing alcoholic beverages (mirin, single-distilled spirits), and took over the business. |
| September 1984 | Procured the site for rice milling and distilled spirit storage. |
| May 1985 | Acquired a license for testing alcoholic beverages (liqueurs). |
| August 1985 | Toshio Sumiya assumed the presidency. |
| March 1990 | Started the construction of a rice milling plant and a distilled spirit brewery. |
| February 1991 | Started the operation of the rice milling plant. |
| November 1991 | Started the operation of the distilled spirit brewery. |
| September 1992 | Renovated and upgraded the steaming yard of the mirin brewery. |
| October 1995 | Renovated the rice malt house of the mirin brewery. |
| March 1998 | Participated in FOODEX with an independent booth at Makuhari Messe, Chiba Prefecture. |
| February 1999 | Reconstructed the mirin feeding brewery for expansion. |
| June 2000 | Acquired the organic certificates (JONA, OCIA). |
| March 2001 | Participated in the Supermarket Trade Show at Tokyo Big Site, Tokyo. |
| July 2003 | Acquired a license for manufacturing liqueurs (on a temporary basis). |
| May 2004 | Completed the construction of the Head Office building (won the Hekinan City Design Culture Award), and moved Head Office to the new building. |
| April 2007 | Acquired a license for manufacturing liqueurs. |
| November 2008 | Appeared on "Food Introduction from Production Area – Mirin," an NHK TV program (nationwide). |
